ABOUT LIGHT & CO —
Opened in the height of the pandemic in 2020 (yowza), Light & Co. was imagined as a fully-inclusive, full-service beauty boutique — a place where anyone could come to nurture their look and leave feeling like their best selves. A place to ignite your inner light.
Light & Co. started in a storage container before moving to our current location, an old church right in the heart of the Jordan City neighborhood. We’re excited to be a part of the renaissance of this particular block, surrounded by other creative female entrepreneurs (make sure you check them out when you come to see us).
We opened our doors, not to become any hair salon, but to become a part of your lives — a salon where consistent self-care isn’t out of reach. We are ready to welcome you in and help you amplify your awesome.

Barbara Holladay
Barbara Holladay
Barbara is the leader behind Light & Co.
In addition to leading a badass team of hair magicians, Barbara also has a few unique tricks up her sleeve that you won’t find in any other stylist’s chair in the area. If you happen upon Barbara listening to Whitney Houston or Beyonce while she works, legend has it that she’s able to blow dry a whole head of hair in half the time.
She’d love to work with Busy Phillips, just to get the inside scoop on the secrets she keeps in her hair, and her biggest insider tip for your hair care routine is to stay the hell away from Pantene Pro V.
When she’s not at the salon, she’s chasing her toddler and thinking about relaxing but never really getting around to it. Let’s be real — Red Bull helps her have it all.
Shannon Hagan
Shannon Hagan
Shannon is a styling master, having worked in the hair industry for the past ten years. She specializes in all things “out of the box.” She loves anything to do with vibrant colors and eccentric cuts, so if you’re looking for something a little out of the ordinary, Shannon’s your girl!
Shannon was trained at an Aveda Salon so she also enjoys working with natural hair and products, and can work with men’s hair, too.
Outside of the salon, she enjoys a good tequila soda and playing video games or watching anime.
Shelby Amos
Shelby Amos
Shelby is another incredible stylist at Light & Co. She loves an awesome groovy haircut (her favorite decade for hair is the 1970’s), and contributes her own signature, unique vibe to the Light & Co. atmosphere.
Shelby loves working at Light & Co., because everyone is able to express themselves in their own way, and she aims to extend that experience to her clients. If she could work with any celebrity client, she would absolutely pick Machine Gun Kelly. In fact, you might find her listening to his music if you come sit in her chair.
When she’s not in the salon, you can find Shelby relaxing on her back porch with her sweet fam, or enjoying a Lavendar White Chocolate Latte from The Bakeshop. Shelby is also our resident cat lady (she has four!) and she is part of the LGBTQ community.
Buffy
Buffy
Buffy’s been in the hair care industry since birth, which is approximately three years. Her favorite music to listen to while working is Britney Spears. If she could have any celebrity as a client it would be Snoop Doggy Dog.
Buffy loves working at Light&Co because she’s allowed a lot of personal freedoms and bathroom breaks. She’s also head of security, so you can imagine she is extremely busy.
Her biggest hair faux pas is getting her nails clipped. Her favorite way to relax after work is getting smothered up to my dog siblings. A fun fact that makes Buffy stand out is that she is a pretty rare dog — she is the first Brussels Griffon to be employed in a salon.
